While we are navigating through the summer of 2021 there remains a continuing feeling of uncertainty about how our contribution to society will include the much-valued connections between people that were enjoyed by Rotary Rotarians in earlier times. While the adage of 'hands in face space' will undoubtedly be part of our ongoing routine it is apparent that confidence is building and more face-to-face connections occur. Rotary, however, has evolved. As we approach the weeks leading to summer 2021, there is still uncertainty about the way we'll provide support to the local community. This includes the valued human connection enjoyed by Rotary members of old. The mantra "hands face space" is expected to be part of the routine, but it's clear there's an increase in confidence and a desire to connect face-to face. Rotary is also changing. Man volunteers clean up trash. volunteering through the networks of Rotary builds lasting relationships outbreak of the pandemic opened our eyes to the technology of this Rotary world. We have sharpened up our practices maintaining online meetings for our business while introducing activities for service and social with a secure face-to-face setting. The new opportunities we have discovered are combining with what we learned about our past pandemics to create a perspective to Rotary. I'm grateful for the fact that Rotary offered me the opportunity to join in 2002. Rotary has given me a dependable network with like-minded people that have allowed the development of genuine friendships.
